
The American singer, guitarist and songwriter Roky Erickson died at the age of 71. He died on Friday in Austin, Texas. The cause of the death of the musician is not known yet. He was one of the founding member of the American rock band The 13th Floor Elevators and a pioneer of the psychedelic rock. After the band, he made a career as a solo artist. Erickson released 15 studio albums. During his lifetime, Erickson suffered from mental health problems and was often in institutional care. In 1990, he was honored with a tribute album with Erickson’s songs, including ZZ Top and R.E.M.
