Michael Stipe has announced an upcoming solo album after 8 years that the famous band R.E.M broke up. He said that 18 songs are already ready for the new album. Lately he talked to Italian newspaper La Repubblica. He said:
For five years I’d had a clean break from music. Now I’m writing, composing and recording all by myself and for the first time. 18 songs are already ready.
He has released a snippet of a new song titled “Future, If Future” so far. You can listen it below.
In May, he made a surprise opening for Patti Smith’s concert and performed two new songs titled ‘Your Capricious Soul’ and ‘Drive to the Ocean.’. You can listen the new songs below.
