Kevin Morby Drops New Album – Sundowner

The American musician, singer and songwriter Kevin Morby has dropped his his sixth full-length album titled Sundowner.  Morby released three tracks from album with music videos. Those are called Campfire, Wander and Don’t Underestimate Midwest American Sun. You can found the music videos below.

Speaking of the new album, he said;

Today I let go of Sundowner and let her out into the world. It is always such a bittersweet feeling. Throughout the writing, recording, mixing, mastering and visual process I hold my work so close to my chest. Then single by single I slowly let it see the light of day until the inevitable release date where it no longer belongs to me. This specific release of course is met with a whole new set of emotions given that there is no tour to follow it – no immediate reward after hours of work behind closed doors – no stepping out onto a stage and getting the pay off of playing the songs with and for all the people I love. I know that we all yearn for this catharsis on both sides – and I hope we all get it soon. But perhaps the reward in the interim is acknowledging that it’s going out into the universe at a time when people need music, and all art, more than ever. I truly believe that – and have been so grateful to so many wonderful artists pushing forward with their releases this year. Bravo.

Truth is we had planned to drop it at some point next year when my touring from OMG cooled down, but when the lockdown went into effect it only felt appropriate I get it out as soon as possible. I hope it can spark some joy for you. This one really means a lot to me and kept me very good company while I crafted it to be what it was always meant to be but now – from my own self imposed isolation between tours from 2017-‘19 into our collective isolation here in 2020 – fly Sundowner, fly!

Thank you to everyone who worked on this album, it means the world to me. Brad, Katie, Jerry, James, Dead Oceans, MK, Johnny and to everyone who takes the time to listen to my music. I love you more than you’ll ever know.
