Italy wins 2021 Eurovision Song Contest


The Italian rock band Måneskin won the annual European music contest Eurovision Song Contest 2021. The band’s frontman, Damiano David, shouted at the awards ceremony, “We just want to say, to the whole of Europe, to the whole world, rock ‘n’ roll never dies” After receiving the trophy, the band is performing “Zitti e Buoni“. Maneskin means moonlight in Danish and is said to be a tribute to the bassist’s home country.

Eurovision is a national competition, and Italy has won the Eurovision for the third time since 1990. Eurovision was canceled last year due to the effects of the new coronavirus.
