Cedric Bixler-Zavala Confirms Reunion Of The Mars Volta

The exciting news of the day comes from American progressive rock band The Mars VoltaCedric Bixler-Zavala and Omar Rodríguez-López have been recording new materials in the studio for some time.

Cedric Bixler-Zavala confirmed on 25th May what many The Mars Volta fans have been waiting for for so long: the band is currently in the studio recording new songs.

The good news revealed on social media after a fan tweeted to singer that he hopes the band starts a new chapter. Bixler-Zavala replied it, “It’s happening.”

Just a few days earlier, his tweets gave some hints about reunion of the band. “We’re sitting in the kitchen together, thinking of new ways to surprise you,”

In early May, the singer had also announced that he was currently in the studio with the “Puerto Rican Bernie Sanders” aka Omar Rodríguez-López, the guitarist of the band, working on new music.

The Mars Volta split in 2013 following a dispute between Bixler-Zavala and Rodríguez-López. “What should I do, as a progressive housewife just look the other way, while my partner sleeps with other bands?“, Bixler-Zavala then justified the dissolution of the band.

Even though no official announcement has been made yet, it is possible for us to hear new songs, maybe albums, from The Mars Wolta in the coming months. We’ll wait and see…

For those who have not yet enjoyed listening to the band’s latest album Noctourniquet (2017), tune in below.
