Get ready to be moved by Beck‘s latest release, the melancholic ‘Thinking About You’. The stripped-down acoustic song finds the LA-based singer-songwriter yearning for a lost love, singing “Don’t treat me like a stranger, the other side of love.” The soulful ballad features contributions from talented musicians Blake Mills (guitar, mandolin), Justin Meldal-Johnsen (bass) and Roger Manning (keyboards).
Beck has been performing ‘Thinking About You’ live at shows, including his intimate performance at Lafayette in London last September. The studio version is now available for you to listen to.
‘Thinking About You’ follows Beck’s cover of Neil Young’s ‘Old Man’ from 2022, and serves as a reminder of his 14th and most recent studio album, ‘Hyperspace’, which was released in 2019. The multi-talented musician has collaborated with Gorillaz on their 2020 song ‘The Valley of the Pagans’ and contributed to their upcoming track ‘Possession Island’ from ‘Cracker Island’. He also released a cover of Paul McCartney’s ‘Find My Way’ for the 2021 album ‘McCartney III: Imagined’.
This year’s Grammys saw Beck pay tribute to the Beach Boys with a mesmerizing performance of ‘Sloop John B’ and a collaboration with My Morning Jacket on ‘Good Vibrations’. This summer, Beck will embark on a North American co-headlining tour with Phoenix, kicking off in Seattle on August 1st. Japanese Breakfast, Jenny Lewis, Weyes Blood, and Sir Chloe will join as special guests at select shows. Get your tickets now!
